puppet party for people only

what was in that punch last night???
now i see why it's even called 'punch'
and i don't think chasing the punch with sausage bits and a smore was all too clever, either.
hey.
this is a Shakespeare festival.
high class stuff here.
and that's exactly why i got a high class headache today!!
if you haven't partaken in the 30 and younger festivities, it's a load of fun.
what makes the evening fun, truly, is the DJ in the out of doors. it's simply a great feeling to dance to the music in the wide open space.
it's so beautiful out there at the bruns.
last night was our first truly cold evening. we have been lucky with the weather. and there is just something that goes through you when you step out on the deck for your scene and see the audience SO bundled up. brrr.
the character pistol is getting more and more fresh these days. last coupla times i've entered for the first scene, i find this gun headed puppet in my face chanting 'hubba hubba'.
like i said before---this is some high class stuff!
so much fun.
danny scheie is pistol---he's a treat to play with onstage.
my sons saw the play the other eve, and my oldest came back at intermission, 11 years old, and says to me: 'sorry mom, but madame mantalini was better'
he loved danny and me together as the mantalinis in nicholas nickelby so much last year. and that's my bar now for him.
hey--he may be my son; but his won't be the only review i pay no mind to!!

Catherine's Blog

we opened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yay!!!!!!!!!!!!
it was a lot of fun...this whole new world i've been practicing to be a part of felt so realized on opening. it's a lot of a d*mn good time, to live in puppetland! and the audience really seemed to be more than happy that they caught the train...they were on the ride. thank goodness.
hey, when you can't beat 'em, join 'em!!
or
when in windsor, do as the puppets do!
